Svetly Yar (Russian: Све́тлый Яр) is an urban locality (a work settlement) and the administrative center of Svetloyarsky District in Volgograd Oblast, Russia, located on the Volga River. Population: 12,537 (2010 Russian census);[1] 13,102 (2002 Census);[5] 11,307 (1989 Soviet census).[6]
