Terrence Edwin Roof Jr. (born December 11, 1963) is an American football coach and former player who currently serves as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach for the UCF Knights. A former standout at linebacker for Georgia Tech, Roof was the defensive coordinator at Georgia Tech for two stints, from 1999 to 2001 under George O'Leary and 2013 to 2017 under Paul Johnson. Roof, who is known for his extremely disciplined defenses, notably served as Auburn University's defensive coordinator and helped them win the 2011 BCS National Championship.
