He was given the nickname Teleco by his grandmother when he was a young boy.[1] He was referred to as "O Rei das Viradas" (King of the Twist) and "O Homem Gol" (Goal Man), for his exploits with his main club, scoring 251 goals in 246 games as well as helping it to four state titles.[2] For these achievements, he is considered by many as a legend of the club and one of its greatest ever players.[3]
