ADRIANA

ADRIANA is a selective α_2B-adrenergic receptor antagonist.^[1] It is described as highly selective over the α_2A- and α_2C-adrenergic receptors.^[1] The drug stimulates norepinephrine release in the spinal dorsal horn and has potent analgesic effects in rodents and non-human primates.^[1] It is orally active.^[1] ADRIANA was first described in the scientific literature by Masayasu Toyomoto and colleagues in 2025.^[1] It is said to be the first selective α_2B-adrenergic receptor antagonist to have been developed.^[1]
