Ali Umar (Dhivehi: އަލީ އުމަރު; born 5 August 1980) is a Maldivian former professional footballer until his retirement in 2013.[1]

Post-playing career
After he retired, he became a member of the Normalization Committee appointed by FIFA to Football Association of Maldives (FAM) from 2 December 2014 to 31 May 2016.[1] Later he was elected to vice president and as an executive committee member for Football Association of Maldives.[2] On 27 March 2018 to 22 May 2019 he was the Commissioner of Sports of Maldives.[3][4][5]
He was also a member of the national football team until his retirement in 2013.[2] He was appointed as FAM's deputy secretary in 2019 and was appointed as the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) vice president in 2023.[1][2]
