Capella Hotels & Resorts is a Singaporean hotel chain of luxury hotels based in Singapore, founded by Ritz Carlton former head Horst Schulze in September 2001. In 2017 Schulze sold Capella [1] to the Kwee Family after Horst established Capella Ultra Luxury brand.[2] In 2023 and 2024, Capella was recognised by Travel and Leisure readers as their favourite hotel brand.[3] By 2025, three Capella hotels were ranked amongst the Top 100 Luxury Hotels in the world. Capella in media
Capella gained notability in 2018 when Capella Singapore became the venue for Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un.[8] In 2025 open-source intelligence efforts geo-located missing Slovak leader Robert Fico vactioning at Capella Hanoi.[9][10][11]
