Chelakkara is one of the 140 state legislative assembly constituencies in Kerala. It is also one of the seven state legislative assembly constituencies included in Alathur Lok Sabha constituency.[1] As of the 2021 assembly election, the MLA is K. Radhakrishnan of Communist Party of India (Marxist); however, Radhakrishnan resigned after winning Alathur Lok Sabha constituency in the 2024 general election.[2]
