Cordulegastroidea is a superfamily of dragonflies that contains three families.^[1]

This superfamily includes the following three families:^[1][2]

• Chlorogomphidae Needham, 1903
• Cordulegastridae Hagen, 1875
• Neopetaliidae Tillyard & Fraser, 1940

The oldest known fossil members of Cordulegastroidea are the family Mesochlorogomphidae (containing Mesochlorogomphus & Hispanochlorogomphus) from the Barremian of England & Spain, and the family Araripechlorogomphidae (containing only Araripechlorogomphus) from the late Aptian of Brazil, which are thought to be related to the Chlorogomphidae.^[3][4]
