Dario Chiazzolino (born February 8, 1985)[1] is an Italian jazz guitarist based in New York City. He has played with Bob Mintzer, Billy Cobham, and the Yellowjackets.[2]

In 2010, Chiazzolino collaborated with bassist Dany Noel, drummer Horacio "El Negro" Hernández, singer Concha Buika, and trumpeter Jerry González on a project blending Latin jazz and flamenco.[3]
Chiazzolino recorded the album Paint Your Life with pianist Taylor Eigsti, bassist Marco Panascia, and drummer Willie Jones III, released by Tukool Records.[4]
In 2012, Chiazzolino collaborated with Yellowjackets members Bob Mintzer, Russell Ferrante, and Jimmy Haslip, recording the album Lost in the Jungle.[5]
Chiazzolino collaborated with Italian guitarist Nico Di Battista on the album Rewriting Songs, released in 2012, which reinterprets Italian traditional songs in a jazz style. In 2013, he worked with Cuban bassist Dany Noel Martinez to release Confidence, an album blending Italian and Cuban musical influences.[6]
Chiazzolino recorded the album Red Cloud, released in 2016 by Tukool Records, featuring pianist Antonio Faraò, bassist Dominique Di Piazza, and drummer Manhu Roche.[7]
In 2014, Chiazzolino toured with British saxophonist Andy Sheppard.[8]
Chiazzolino has performed at notable jazz festivals, such as the Umbria Jazz Festival and NYC Winter Jazzfest, and at venues including Blue Note Milano and Ronnie Scott’s.[9] In 2016, he released The Ninth Gig with the New Generation Trio.[10] That year, he also collaborated with saxophonist Andy Sheppard.[11] He later joined Spirit Fingers, a jazz-fusion band led by Greg Spero, with Hadrien Feraud and Mike Mitchell, contributing to their debut album Spirit Fingers released in 2018.[12] In 2020, he worked with Spero on Piano & Guitar Improvisation and contributed to Spirit Fingers’ albums Goodbye and Peace.[13]
In 2021, Dario Chiazzolino collaborated in duos with guitarists Peter Bernstein and Jonathan Kreisberg, performing at various venues.[14][15]
In 2022, Chiazzolino released I Am Ready with bassist Federico Malaman and drummer Max Furian and continued working with the fusion ensemble Spirit Fingers.[16][17]
In 2023, Chiazzolino recorded albums with pianist Greg Spero, trumpeter Keyon Harrold, bassist Jermaine Paul, and drummer Terreon Gully, including Back to Beginnings, Bass Solo, The Dance, Resurrection, The Journey, Past Reflections, Stepping Through Fire, Guidance, Reckoning, Beginnings, and Progressions.[18][19]
In 2024, Chiazzolino released The Abstrucks with Malaman and Furian, followed by his solo project ATTYA, and performed at the Indy Jazz Fest (USA), Mondriaan Jazz Festival (Netherlands), and Paris Jazz Festival (France).[20][21][22]
Chiazzolino endorses D’Angelico Guitars, DV Mark amplifiers, Dogal Strings, and Keeley Electronics pedals.[23][24][25][26]
Dario Chiazzolino serves as a music lecturer at CUNY / Borough of Manhattan Community College and has conducted jazz guitar masterclasses in various countries.[27][28]
