The Kebun Baru Single Member Constituency[a] is a single member constituency (SMC) in Ang Mo Kio, Singapore. It was originally known as Kebun Baru Constituency from 1980 until 1988, when it was renamed following the introduction of the Group Representation Constituency (GRC) system at the 1988 general election.

The constituency was abolished at the 1991 general election but was re-established in the 2020 general election, and has been contested in every general election since. The current Member of Parliament for the constituency is Henry Kwek from the People's Action Party (PAP). It is managed by Ang Mo Kio Town Council (AMKTC).

History

The constituency was first was carved from the now-defunct Ang Mo Kio Constituency in 1980. It was helmed by the PAP's Lim Boon Heng throughout its first 11 years of existence. At the 1988 general election, following the introduction of Group Representation Constituencies (GRCs), the seat was renamed Kebun Baru Single Member Constituency in line with the new designation for constituencies with only one Member of Parliament.[2] It was absorbed into Ang Mo Kio GRC prior to the 1991 general election.

Since 2020

Kebun Baru SMC was reformed following the release of the Electoral Boundaries Review Committee's report on 13 March 2020.[3] The constituency was carved out of Nee Soon GRC, which it had belonged to since 2015.[4] Henry Kwek, representing the PAP, proceeded to defeat Kumaran Pillai from the Progress Singapore Party (PSP) with 62.97% of the vote. In the 2025 general election, Kwek won re-election against Tony Tan from the PSP with an improved 68.5% of the vote.[5]
