Voting was held on 20 May 2024 in the 2nd phase of Odisha Assembly Election and the 5th phase of Indian General Election. Counting of votes was on 4 June 2024.^[11] In 2024 election, Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Mukesh Mahaling defeated Biju Janata Dal candidate Nihar Ranjan Behera by a margin of 18,190 votes.^[7]
