Max Brosmer (born March 28, 2001) is an American professional football quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the New Hampshire Wildcats and Minnesota Golden Gophers.

Early life

Brosmer was born in Davenport, Iowa and after living for a while in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, he moved to Roswell, Georgia in middle school.[1] He attended Roswell's Centennial High School.[2]

College career

Brosmer was named the New Hampshire Wildcats' starting quarterback entering his true freshman season.[3] He completed 183 of 311 pass attempts for 1,967 yards with 16 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.[4] UNH played one game during Brosmer's true sophomore season, which was postponed from late 2020 to the spring of 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He tore his ACL during preseason practices the following year and missed the entire season as a medical redshirt.[5] Brosmer passed for 3,157 yards with 27 touchdowns with eight interceptions as a redshirt junior.[6] As a senior, he led the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision with 3,464 passing yards and had 29 passing touchdowns.[7] After the season, he entered the NCAA transfer portal and utilize the extra year of eligibility granted to college athletes who played in the 2020 season due to the coronavirus pandemic.[8]

Brosmer ultimately transferred to Minnesota.[9]

Brosmer signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent on April 26, 2025.[13]

After a successful preseason, Brosmer made the initial 53-man roster on August 26, 2025. He was one of the seven undrafted free agents that made the Vikings roster.[14][15]

He made his first regular season appearance on September 21, 2025 versus the Cincinnati Bengals.[16] Brosmer went 2 for 4 for 29 yards becoming the first starting quarterback from the University of Minnesota to play quarterback in the NFL since 2002.[17]
