Pakhli or Pakhal (اردو: پکھلی) is a historical de-facto region consisting of Mansehra and Battagram districts located in Hazara Division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan.[1]
Pakhli is divided into two parts: Upper Pakhli (اتلی پکھلی), or Gabri, and Lower Pakhli (ترلی پکھلی), or Mamaili - Mitravi.[2]

Etymology
Pakhli is named after Sultan Pakhal Swati who was the first Sultan of Gabari Kingdom of Swat also known as Pakhal Sarkar.[3]
History
On 30th May 1848 Captain James Abbott, who had been responsible for demarcating the Kashmir border, wrote "News from Moozuffurabad [sic] strengthens the information received from Cashmere. The Maharaja Goolab Singh is either marching a considerable force toward this frontier, or he has contrived that such should be generally believed. The whole valley of Pukli is in expectation and dread of a tyrant so abhorred by them. It is well known that a close intimacy subsists between this Prince and Sudar Chuttur Singh, Nazim of Huzara." [4]
The people of Pakhli therefore feared Chuttur Singh, Nazim of Hazara but under British auspices, would join Gulab Singh's state.
