History
In February 2022, the main structure of the site was topped out.[4] In August the same year, the right line tunnel boring machine between the Higher Education Mega Center South middle wind shaft and the station broke through, marking the realization of a double-line breakthrough in the tunnel between the station and Higher Education Mega Center South Station.[5] The station completed the "three powers" transfer in October 2023.[6] At 12:00 on December 28, the station was put into use with the opening of Line 7 Phase 2.[2]
Future development
The Pazhou branch of the Guangzhou–Shenzhen intercity railway under construction has a Shenjing Station on the southeast side of the station,[7] which is connected to the concourse through a long-distance transfer passageway, and there will be moving pedestrian walkways within the passage.[2]
