Virman Vundabar is a fictional extraterrestrial supervillain published by DC Comics.[1]

Publication history
Virman Vundabar was created by Jack Kirby and first appeared in Mister Miracle #5 (December 1971). His physical appearance is modeled after Benito Mussolini.[2]
The name "Vundabar" is a corruption of the German word "wunderbar", which means "wonderful", and has also been spelled as "Vunderbarr". His first name "Virman" is a corruption of the word "vermin".
Fictional character biography
Vundabar is a New God from Apokolips and minion of Granny Goodness and Darkseid who models his appearance after Prussian culture.[3][4] He has orchestrated many schemes to gain power, often collaborating with Darkseid's lieutenants Doctor Bedlam, Steppenwolf, and Kanto.[5]
In Death of the New Gods, Vundabar is killed by Darkseid before eventually being resurrected.[6]
In Terror Titans, Vundabar is killed by the Clock King, with his niece Malice joining the Female Furies.
In Tom King's Mister Miracle series, Vundabar appears as part of a hallucination Mister Miracle suffers after being exposed to the Anti-Life Equation.[7]

Powers and abilities
As a New God, Virman Vundabar is nigh-immortal and possesses superhuman physical abilities. He is also a skilled combatant, strategist, and scientist.

An alternate universe variant of Virman Vundabar appears in Kingdom Come.
Other appearances
- Vundabar (also called Baron Vermin) appears in the crossover miniseries DC X Sonic the Hedgehog.[8] In the fourth issue, he invades the Lost Hex for a Chaos Emerald, and controls the Deadly Six via a Cacophonic Conch, only for the Flash to storm in, and disarm him from the Conch and retrieve the Emerald, leaving Vundabar to the mercy of the Six.
