From Old Swedish þænni, from Old Norse þessi, sjá, (runic: ᛋᛅᛋᛁ = sāsi), from the demonstrative pronoun sá + an intensive suffix -si. The form denna is specifically from the Old Norse masculine accusative form þenna.

Usage notes
