- The non-emphatic hamyo can be used either as a subject of an intransitive verb in realis mood clauses, or as an object of a transitive verb, while en is used as a subject of a transitive verb in realis mood, and with all verbs in irrealis mood.
- In transitive clauses with an indefinite object, the non-emphatic hamyo can be used as a subject.
- The emphatic hamyo can be used either to emphasise the subject or to give a quick response.
