- (intransitive) to believe, think, suppose, guess (something that one does not know to be true)
- Sinä vain luulet, että hän inhoaa sinua.
- You just think that she hates you.
- (transitive, usually atelic) to mistake, take [with translative ‘for’]

- I mistook him/her for a Finn.
