İdil (Syriac: ܐܙܟ, romanized: Azakh,[2][nb 1] or Beth Zabday,[5] Kurdish: Hezex,[6] Arabic: آزخ, romanized: Azekh)[7] is a city and seat of the İdil District of the Şırnak Province in Turkey.[8] It is located in the historical region of Tur Abdin.

The town had a population of 30,271 in 2021 and is composed of Kurds of the Domanan, Dorikan, Harunan, Meman and Omerkan tribes.[1][10][11] There is moreover a small Assyrian minority.[12]
