Phyllis Dorothy JAMES, Baronino Jakobo de Holland Park, OBE, FRSA, FRSL (naskiĝis la 3-an de aŭgusto 1920 en Oksfordo, Oxfordshire, Anglio; mortis la 27-an de novembro 2014 samloke), estis brita krimverkisto [1]. Ŝi estas unu el la krimverkistoj kiuj ankaŭ havis profesian ligon al policlaboro, ĉar ŝi laboris de 1968 ĝis 1980 por sekcio de la Brita Enlanda Ministerio kiu respondecis pri policlaboro [2]. Ĝia ĉefa protagonisto estas Adam Dalgliesh, detektivo ĉe Scotland Yard kun inklino al poezio. Ŝi faris sian debuton en 1962 kun la krimromano Cover Her Face (Kovru ŝian vizaĝon), kio estis la unua Dalgliesh-romano. Poste, en An Unsuitable Job for a Woman en 1972, ŝi ankaŭ prezentis la inan privatan detektivon Cordelia Gray.
