Earl Simmons (18. joulukuuta 1970 Mount Vernon, New York – 9. huhtikuuta 2021 White Plains, New York)^[1][2], tunnetaan myös nimimerkeillä Dog Man Xtreme, The Divine Master of the Unknown, Dark Man X, kaikista yleisimmin DMX-nimellä, oli yhdysvaltalainen hip-hop-artisti ja näyttelijä, joka oli tunnetuimmillaan 1990-luvun lopulla. Hänen lyriikkansa olivat usein uskonnollisia.

Lapsuus

Simmons syntyi 18. joulukuuta 1970. Hänen vanhempansa olivat Joe Barker ja Arnett Simmons. Hänellä oli 4 siskoa. 10-vuotiaana Simmons oli erotettu koulusta väkivaltaisen käytöksen takia ja pidätetty kahdesti, tuhopoltosta ja pahoinpitelystä.

Simmons aloitti huumeiden käytön 14-vuotiaana.^[3]
