Boal[1][2], (na norma da ALLA para o eonaviego, Bual[3], cooficialmente en castelán, Boal[4]) é un concello de Asturias. Limita ao norte col Franco e Coaña, ao sur con Eilao, ao oeste con Castropol e o leste con Villaión. O concello cobre unha superficie de 119 km² e contaba cun total 2180 habitantes no ano 2005, o que dá unha densidade de poboación de 18,32 hab./km². Este concello galegofalante é considerado tradicionalmente como un dos 48 concellos da Galicia estremeira. O seu xentilicio é boalense/-ensa, boalés/-esa,[1]
