Oxfordshire é un condado non metropolitano ao sueste de Inglaterra (Reino Unido) cuxa capital é Oxford.[1][2] Limita con Northamptonshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire e Warwickshire.

Está dividido en cinco distritos gobernamentais: Oxford, Cherwell, Vale of the White Horse (despois de Uffington White Horse), West Oxfordshire e South Oxfordshire.
O principal recurso do condado é o turismo, a zona salienta pola concentración de compañías e instalacións relacionadas co automobilismo; a Oxford University Press liderou a converxencia de compañías de impresión e publicación e a universidade tamén está vinculada á concentración de compañías de biotecnoloxía.
O principal núcleo de poboación é a cidade de Oxford, xunto con outras poboacións como Bicester, Banbury e Chipping Norton ao norte de Oxford; Witney ao oeste; Thame e Chinnor ao leste; e Abingdon, Wantage, Wallingford, Didcot e Henley-on-Thames ao sur.
O futuro crecemento de poboación do condado espérase que se concentre a redor de Banbury, Bicester, Didcot e Witney preto da zona de crecemento das South Midlands.
O bico máis alto do condado é Whitehorse Hill, no Val do White horse, cunha altura de 261 metros sobre o nivel o mar. O condado ocupa unha área de 2.605 Km² e a súa poboación é de 615.204 habitantes.
Historicamente, a área tivo sempre importancia. Trátase dunha zona de gran valor agrícola situada entre as cidades do sur e na que se atopa a cidade de Oxford (nome derivado da denominación en inglés antigo Oxenaforda, o vao do boi).
Ignorado polos romanos, non foi até a creación da localidade de Oxford cando a área empezou a gañar importancia. Alfredo o Grande naceu en Wantage. A Universidade de Oxford foi fundada no ano 1096. A área foi parte do mercado de la dos Cotswold durante o século XVIII.
