Brongniartiinae je podtribus mahunarki, dio je tribusa Desmodieae. Pripada mu 43 roda.;^[1] tipičan je dezmodijum (Desmodium), 186 vrasta dvogodišnjeg raslinja i grmova iz Novog svijeta. Nekoliko vrsta Starog svijeta vjerojatno treba distribuciju u spin-off rodove.
