ട്രിപ്പോളി

ലിബിയയുടെ തലസ്ഥാനനഗരമാണ് ട്രിപ്പോളി (Arabic: طرابلس Ṭarābulus pronunciation^ⓘ അഥവാ طرابلس الغرب Ṭarā-bu-lus al-Gharb^[1] ലിബിയൻ നാട്ടുഭാഷയിൽ: Ṭrābləs pronunciation^ⓘ). അറബിയിൽ 'തറാബുലുസ് അൽഷാം' (Tarabulus-sham) എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്നു. ഗ്രീക്ക് ഭാഷയിലെ മൂന്ന് നഗരങ്ങൾ എന്നർത്ഥം വരുന്ന ട്രിപോളിസ് (Τρίπολις) എന്ന പദത്തിൽ നിന്നാണ്‌ ഈ നഗരത്തിന്റെ പേര്‌ ഉരുത്തിരിഞ്ഞത്.
