Richard Sinclair

Richard Stephen Sinclair (fødd 6. juni 1948) er ein engelsk progressiv rock-bassist, gitarist og vokalist som har vore medlem av fleire band innan Canterbury scene.

Biografi

Sinclair spelte gitar (og stundom song) i The Wilde Flowers. I 1968 var han med å skipe Caravan, og byta då til bassgitar og delte solovokal i lag med Pye Hastings. Han skreiv brorparten av songane til det tredje albumet deira, In the Land of Grey and Pink. Sinclair slutta i Caravan i 1972 for å skipe Hatfield and the North med dei tidlegare Delivery-medlemmane Phil Miller og Pip Pyle. I 1974 deltok han på Rock Bottom, det andre soloalbumet til den tidlegare Soft Machine-trommisen Robert Wyatt.

Etter Hatfield vart oppløyst i 1975, flytta Sinclair attende til Canterbury, og heldt ein låg musikalsk profil, og spelte stundom under namnet Sinclair & The South. I 1977 gjekk han inn i Camel som den nye bassisten deira, der han vart verande for to studioalbum.

I 1980-åra spelte han meir sporadisk. I 1990-åra skipa han si eiga gruppe, Caravan of Dreams.
