Björneborg (finsk: Pori; latin: Arctopolis) er en kommune og by ved munningen av Kumo älv i Bottenhavet på vestkysten av Finland.[3] Det er Finlands 11. største by med 85 384[4] innbyggere (2015). Björneborg ble grunnlagt av den svenske kongen Johan III i 1558. Da hadde byen rett til utenrikshandel og hadde et blomstrende næringsliv. Ved den industrielle utviklingen flyttet mange folk fra distriktet til byen, som etter hvert ble enspråklig finsk.
