Kirkenær er et tettsted og administrasjonssenteret i Grue kommune i Innlandet. Tettstedet har 1 216[1] innbyggere per 1. januar 2023. Stedet har navn etter Kirkenær gård og ligger midt i Solør. Da jernbanen kom i 1893, grodde det opp en ny bebyggelse rundt jernbanestasjonen. Persontrafikken på Solørbanen ble nedlagt midt i 1990-årene. Tjura med sitt særegne samfunn rundt åa med kverner og spikerververk mistet nå sin betydning som bygdesentrum.

I 1822 var Kirkenær åsted for Grue kirke-brannen, en stor brannkatastrofe hvor minst 113 personer omkom og som førte til et lovpåbud om at alle dører i offentlige bygg skulle slå utover.[2] En ny Grue kirke stod klar på Kirkenær i 1828.
Stedet ble også landskjent for den enorme innsatsen som ble vist av bygdefolket under storflommen Vesleofsen på Østlandet i 1995.
Ny miljøgate stod ferdig i 2005 med bl.a. nyrestaurerte bygninger.
