Kraftverket ble satt i drift i 1971, og utnytter et fall på 231 meter mellom Savalen og Glomma. Det overføres også vann fra elven Einunna til magasinet i Savalen.
Det er installert en francisturbin på 58 MW. Normal årsproduksjon er på ca. 151 GWh.[7]
Tilsiget er på 319 millioner m³ og nedslagsfeltet er på 662 km². Magasinkapasiteten er på 146 millioner m³
Eier er E-CO Energi med 50%, Opplandskraft DA og Oppland Energi med 25 % hver.
