ਹਿੰਦ-ਯਵਨ ਰਾਜ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਉਪਮਹਾਂਦੀਪ ਦੇ ਪੱਛਮ-ਉੱਤਰੀ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਿਤ ੨੦੦ ਈਸਾ ਪੂਰਵ ਤੋਂ ੧੦ ਈਸਵੀ ਤੱਕ ਦੇ ਕਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਯੂਨਾਨੀ ਮੂਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਸਨ।
ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਇੱਥੇ ੩੦ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਹਿੰਦ-ਯਵਨ ਰਾਜੇ ਰਹੇ ਜੋ ਆਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਲੜਿਆ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਰਾਜਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਿਲਸਿਲਾ ਤਦ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਇਆ ਜਦੋਂ ਬੈਕਟਰੀਆ ਦੇ ਦੀਮੀਤਰੀ (ਦੇਮੇਤਰੀਸ ਪਹਿਲੇ) ਯਵਨ (ਯੂਨਾਨੀ) ਰਾਜਾ ਨੇ ੧੮੦ ਈ ਪੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੰਦੂ-ਕੁਸ਼ ਪਹਾੜ ਸਿਲਸਿਲਾ ਪਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਪੱਛਮ-ਉੱਤਰੀ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੱਲਾ ਬੋਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ।[1] ਆਪਣੇ ਕਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਸਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ, ਵੇਸ਼ਭੂਸ਼ਾ, ਚਿਹਨਾਂ, ਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਰਹਿਣ-ਸਹਿਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਯੂਨਾਨੀ-ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸੰਸਕ੍ਰਿਤੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਡੂੰਘਾ ਰਲੇਵਾਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਅਤੇ ਬੋਧੀ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਤੱਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਪਣਾਇਆ। ਹਿੰਦ-ਯਵਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਕ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਕਰਮਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਅੰਤ ਹੋਇਆ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ੧੦ ਈ ਦੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਵੀ ਇੱਕਾ-ਦੁੱਕਾ ਜਗ੍ਹਾਵਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੁੱਝ ਦੇਰ ਤੱਕ ਯੂਨਾਨੀ ਬਿਰਾਦਰੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਬਣਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ। ਸਮਾਂ ਬੀਤਣ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸਮਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮੋ ਗਏ।[2]
