Asrani

Govardhan Asrani (3 January 1941 – 20 October 2025), known popularly by mononym Asrani, was an Indian actor, comedian and director. He acted in over 350 Hindi movies. He was known for his role as the Jailor in the 1975 movie Sholay. He also appeared in 25 movies with actor Rajesh Khanna. He was born in Jaipur, then-British India.

Asrani died on 20 October 2025 from respiratory failure caused by pulmonary edema at a hospital in Mumbai, India at the age of 84.^[1][2]
