The Eurovision Song Contest 2020 was a cancelled singing competition that was to be held in The Netherlands, after Duncan Laurence won the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with the song ”Arcade”.

Cancellation

On 18 March 2020, it was announced that the contest would be cancelled due to the 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic in Europe.[1] It's the first in the history of the contest to be cancelled.[2]

After the show was cancelled, the European Broadcasting Union organised a replacement show called Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light, to show the selected entries in place of the Grand Final on 16 May. Rotterdam remained as the host city of the next year's contest.[2]
