Fex (often stylized as FEX) is a rock band, formed in Kiel back in late-1983.^[1] They are best known for the song "Subways of Your Mind", which is notorious for its 17-year-long online search.^[2] During this period, the song earned the nickname "The Most Mysterious Song on the Internet", until its identification on 4 November 2024.

FEX recorded a demo version of the song around summer of 1984, likely in August of that year,^[3] and the studio version was recorded in November 1984^[4] and featured on their self-titled EP from 1985, as well as other songs such as "Heart in Danger", "Talking Hands" (these two were also recorded in November 1984), "Jenny", "I Got my Eyes on You" and "Goldrush".^[5]
