Kia K9

The Kia K9 (called Kia K900 in the United States and Canada, and Kia Quoris in other countries) is a full-size luxury sedan.^[1] made by Kia. It is the first rear-wheel drive sedan that Kia sold in the United States. The K9 was first introduced in South Korea in May 2012, and started being sold in other countries later that year.

The first generation of the Kia K9 (known as the K900 in North America and Quoris in other countries) was produced from 2012 to 2018. It shared its platform with the Hyundai Equus and Genesis. The K9 had a 3.3L V6 engine, a 3.8L V6, and a 5.0L V8 engine. It came with an 8-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. In 2013, it was launched in Russia, and it was sold in countries like the Middle East, South Korea, and the United States. It had features like blind spot detection, a head-up display, and an adaptive front lighting system.

The second generation of the Kia K9 was introduced in 2018. It is larger and wider than the first generation, with a longer wheelbase. The new K9 uses the same 8-speed transmission and offers engines like the 3.3L Lambda II GDi V6, 3.3L T-GDi V6, 3.8L Lambda II GDi V6, and the 5.0L Tau GDi V8. The second generation also introduced an all-wheel-drive (AWD) option in some countries. In 2021, the car received a facelift with a new grille and updated features inside^{[4] [5]}in 2018 Kia discontinued the K900 in Canada and in the United States due to weak sales and Kia focusing more on SUVS and Crossovers in January 2021.^[6]
