The Genesis G80 is a luxury Sedan made by Genesis since 2016.
First Generation (2016-2020)
The Genesis G80 was first introduced in 2013 as the second generation of the Hyundai Genesis after Genesis became a separate luxury division it was renamed to G80 and is basically a updated version of the Genesis that debuted at the North American International Auto Show in 2016.[4] followed later in the Busan Motor Show.[5] it was put on sale in South Korea in July and in the United States it was put on sale in 2017.
The car has a 2.0 liter turbo 3.3 liter 3.8 V6 and a 5.0 liter V8 gasoline engines and a 2.2 liter diesel engine with only a 8-speed automatic transmission a sportier version called Genesis G80 Sport was debuted also at the Busan Motor Show.[6] followed later in the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2016.[7] and in the North American International Auto Show in 2017 it has a 3.3 liter turbo gasoline engine.

Second Generation (2020-present)
The Second generation Genesis G80 is designated RG3 it was officially revealed via a online livestream in 2020 and was put on sale in the United States in the same year.[11] there are people who consider this the third generation of the Hyundai Genesis because the First generation G80 was first launched as the second generation of the Genesis and renamed to G80 in 2016.
The car has a 2.5 liter turbo and a 3.5 liter turbo V6 gasoline engines and a 2.2 liter diesel engine with a 8-speed automatic transmission a electric version called Electrified G80 was launched in Shanghai Auto Show in April 2021.[12] the version has two electric motors one in each axle a long wheel base version and has a interior made with organic materials the G80 Sport (like the previous gen is also a sportier version) was also launched in August 2021.[13] the normal G80 and the electric versions were facelifted in 2023 as a 2024 model.[14]

Markets
The Genesis G80 and the Electrified G80 are sold worldwide mainly in North America, Europe, Australia, South Korea and a few other markets. A long wheel base version of the Electrified G80 was even used as the official car at the 2022 G20 Bali summit.
