Morgan Lewis (October 16, 1754 – April 7, 1844) was an American lawyer, politician, and military commander. He was in the New York State Assembly (1789, 1792) and the New York State Senate (1811–1814) and was State Attorney General (1791–1801) and the fourth Governor of New York (1804–1807).[1]
