Rottweil (German: [ˈʁɔtvaɪl] (listen)) is the oldest town in the German state of Baden-Württemberg.^[2] It has almost 25,000 inhabitants as of 2015.

The Rottweiler dog breed is named after this town.

In 2015, the company ThyssenKrupp started to build a 807-foot (246 m) tower for $45 million in Rottweil.^[3] The tower was completed in 2017. It was the tallest elevator test tower in the world when it was finished.^[4]
