Touch ID is a electronic fingerprint scanner feature made by Apple Inc.[1] It was used in smartphones, laptops, keyboards, desktop computers and tablet computers.


History
On 20 September 2013, the iPhone 5s became the first iPhone to have a Touch ID.[2] On 23 September 2013, the iPhone 5s was hacked Touch ID by Chao Computer Club.[3][4][5][6]
On 3 December 2013, iPhone 5S has a problem with Touch ID.[7] On 22 February 2025, the iPhone SE (3rd generation) became the last iPhone to have a Touch ID.
Works

People must touch and grip home button or power button to unlock their devices.[8]
On iPhone and iPad, they can adds five more fingerprint scanners.[9]

Security
Touch ID can be easily escaped by using passcode. On June 2024, iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 can be hard to escape locked and hidden apps.
