It covers an area of approximately 10.9 square kilometres (4.2 sq mi) and as at the 2016 census had an estimated population of 67,658.[2] The administrative seat of North Sydney Council is located in the suburb of North Sydney, approximately 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) north of the Sydney central business district.
The mayor of North Sydney Council is Cr. Zoë Baker, an independent politician, first elected on 10 January 2022.[3]
