This Pulitzer Prize has been awarded since 1942 for a distinguished example of reporting on international affairs, including United Nations correspondence. In its first six years (1942–1947), it was called the Pulitzer Prize for Telegraphic Reporting – International.

  1. Moved by the Pulitzer board from the Feature Writing category.
  2. Moved by the Pulitzer board from the Explanatory Reporting category.
  3. Rescinded in 2020 after one of the subjects profiled in Caliphate, Shehroze Chaudhry, was charged in Canada and an internal review by The New York Times then asked the Pulitzer board to withdraw recognition.
