Etymology

Related to the verbal subject prefix qe-. Compare also Navajo -ké, Ahtna -kaey, with a similar function and semantic range.

1. Pluralizes nouns referring to humans and dogs

   ‎łikʼa (“dog”) + ‎-qa → ‎łikʼaqa (“dogs”)

   ‎tʼada (“young woman”) + ‎-qa → ‎tʼadaqa (“young women”)
