- Used to form the present passive infinitive of regular verbs, except the third conjugation's ones.
Usage notes
- To form it: Take the present active infinitive, remove the final -e, and add -ī; in the case of 3th conjugation -ere is removed).
- The ending appears as -ārī, -ērī, -ī, or -īrī depending on the thematic vowel, but the final vowel is always -ī.
- In deponent verbs, the form has active meaning (e.g. loquī = "to speak").
