From ris- + -oa, from the same root as risahtaa. The original meaning was probably "to split, chop, break". Related to Karelian risuo.

  • Rhymes: -isoɑ
  • Syllabification(key): ri‧so‧a

  1. (transitive, usually atelic) to annoy, vex
    Minua risoo se, että...
    It annoys me that...
  2. (impersonal + partitive) to be annoyed, vexed

Usage notes

This impersonal verb is always used in the third person, but may be inflected in number (singular or plural), tense (such as present or past) and mood (such as indicative or conditional).
