Mathematica discreta est pars artis mathematicae quae de numeris integris et rebus discretis tractat. Contrarium est analysis, ubi res maximi momenti sunt continuitas et limites. Mathematica discreta probabilitatem simplicem, algorithmus, calculum coninctionibus, N-plecem, logicam propositionale, programma computatrale, theoriam graphorum, theoriam copiarum, theoriam ludorum et combinatoricam comprehendit. Potest etiam "mathematica finita" appellari, etiamsi res in hac mathematicae parte non omnes finitae sunt (ut, exempli gratia, copia numerorum integrum est infinita).
