വയലറ്റ് (നിറം)

വയലറ്റ് നീലയ്ക്കും അദൃശ്യമായ അൾട്രാവയലറ്റിനും ഇടയിൽ കാണപ്പെടുന്ന പ്രകാശത്തിന്റെ ദൃശ്യ സ്പെക്ട്രത്തിന്റെ അവസാനത്തെ നിറം ആണ്. വയലറ്റ് നിറത്തിൽ ഏകദേശം 380-450 നാനോമീറ്ററുകളുടെ പ്രബല തരംഗദൈർഘ്യം കാണപ്പെടുന്നു. ^[3] എന്നാൽ വയലറ്റിന് പ്രകാശത്തിൽ എക്സ്-റേ, ഗാമാ കിരണങ്ങളെക്കാൾ ചെറിയ തരംഗദൈർഘ്യമാണുള്ളത്. തരംഗദൈർഘ്യം കുറഞ്ഞ പ്രകാശത്തെ അൾട്രാവയലറ്റ് എന്ന് വിളിക്കുന്നു. ചരിത്രപരമായി ചിത്രകാരന്മാർ ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരുന്ന വർണ്ണ ചക്രത്തിൽ ഇത് നീലയ്ക്കും പർപ്പിളിനും ഇടയിലാണ് സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. കമ്പ്യൂട്ടർ മോണിറ്ററുകളുടെയും ടെലിവിഷൻ സെറ്റുകളുടെയും സ്ക്രീനിൽ വയലറ്റ് പോലെ തോന്നിക്കുന്ന നിറം ആർജിബി വർണ്ണ മാതൃക ഉപയോഗിച്ച് ചുവപ്പും നീലയും കലർന്ന പ്രകാശത്തെ ചുവപ്പിനെക്കാളിലും രണ്ടിരട്ടി പ്രകാശമുള്ള നീലപ്രകാശം നിർമ്മിക്കുന്നതാണ്. കുറഞ്ഞ ഒറ്റ തരംഗദൈർഘ്യം മാത്രമുള്ള നീല വെളിച്ചം മറ്റു വർണ്ണങ്ങളുടെ തരംഗദൈർഘ്യവുമായി പൊരുത്തപ്പെടുന്നില്ല, കാരണം ഇത് യഥാർത്ഥ വയലറ്റ് അല്ല.
