Jim Hughart

James David Hughart (fødd 28. juli 1936) er ein USA-amerikansk jazz- og pop-bassist.

Hughart byrja å arbeide som musikar i 1953.^[1]

I 1957 tok han bachelorgraden i musikkteori innan bass på University of Minnesota.^[2] Hughart måtte så i militæret og reiste gjennom Europa som ein del av 7th Army Symphony Orchestra.^[3] Heime att vart han ein del av turnébandet til Ella Fitzgerald for dei neste tre åra.^[4]

I 1964 flytta han til Los Angeles og vart ein særs aktiv studiomusikar.^[5]

Hughart spelte ofte i lag med gitaristen Joe Pass og songaren Tom Waits.

Han har spelt på over 200 album, 300 filmar og mange fjernsynsshow.^[6] Hughart har spelt med artistar som Frank Sinatra, Peggy Lee, Diana Ross, Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez, Barry Manilow, Frank Rosolino, Paul Smith, Barney Kessel, Milt Jackson og Natalie Cole.
