Paul Horn

Paul Horn (17. mars 1930–29. juni 2014) var ein USA-amerikansk fløytist, saksofonist, komponist og produsent. Han vart ein pioner innan verdsmusikk og new age-musikk då han i 1969 gav ut albumet Inside.^[1]

Horn flytta til Los Angeles og spelte med kvintetten til Chico Hamilton frå 1956 til 1958 før han vart ein etablert studiomusikarar. Han spelte på Duke Ellington Orchestra-albumet Suite Thursday og arbeidde med Nat King Cole, Tony Bennett og andre. I 1959 laga han musikken til animasjonsserien Clutch Cargo.

I 1960 spelte Horn for Fantasy Records med Latin Jazz-vibrafonisten Cal Tjader for albumet Latino! Horn byrja å utøve transcendental meditasjon^[2] og var med på reisa til India i lag med The Beatles i 1968. Etter denne opplevinga byrja Horn å gå frå jazz til verdsmusikk og new age-musikk.
