W dniu 1 stycznia 2016 roku z połączenia trzech ówczesnych gmin – Castelnau-de-Brassac, Ferrières oraz Le Margnès – utworzono nową gminę Fontrieu. Siedzibą gminy została miejscowość Castelnau-de-Brassac[2].
