Narada Michael Walden

Narada Michael Walden (fødd 23. april 1952) er ein USA-amerikansk produsent, trommeslagar, multiinstrumentalist, songar og låtskrivar. Han fekk namnet Narada av guru Sri Chinmoy tidleg i 1970-åra og har hatt ein musikalsk karriere sidan tidleg i 1970-åra. Walden eig og driv Tarpan Studios, eit platestudio i San Rafael i California.

Karriere

På scenen har han spelt med John McLaughlin og Mahavishnu Orchestra (der han erstatta trommeslagaren Billy Cobham),^[1] Jeff Beck (på Wired) og Tommy Bolin Band.

Det første soloalbumet hans, Garden of Love Light, kom ut i 1976 og innehelt songen «Delightful», ein song frå setlista til Tommy Bolin Band. Denne kom ut på singel og nådde 81. plassen på R&B-lista i USA våren 1977. I 1976 spelte han på albumet Vimana av det italienske progressive rockebandet Nova, der han både er trommeslagar og komponerte ein av songane. I 1979 nådde albumet hans Awakening 15. plassen på R&B-lista og inneheldt hitten «I Don't Want Nobody Else (To Dance with You)». Seinare det året gav albumet hans The Dance of Life ein singel på topp 5 i USA, «I Shoulda Loved Ya». Han fortette med sporadiske solohittar gjennom 1980-åra. «Gimme Gimme Gimme», ein duett frå 1985 med Patti Austin, nådde topp 10 i Sverige, Noreg, Belgia og Nederland. I 1988 fekk han ein hit med i Storbritannia og USA med «Divine Emotions» under namnet Narada.
