"Engiadina" erromantxerazko izenak "Inn ibaiaren lorategia" esan nahi du.
Suitzako Alpeetan jaiotzen da eta iturburutik gertu Sils eta Silvaplana aintzirak zeharkatzen ditu. Ipar-ekialderantz jotzen du ondoren eta Austriako Tirol eskualdean barneratzen da. Ibaiaren izena hartzen du Tiroleko hiriburuak, Innsbruck hain zuzen ere. Ondoren Alemaniako Bavaria eskualdean sartzen da eta Passau hiria bat egiten du Danubio ibaiarekin.
Haren ibilbidean, udalerri hauek zeharkatzen ditu: Saint-Moritz (Grischun, Suitza), Landeck, Innsbruck eta Kufstein (Tirol, Austria), Rosenheim, Muhldorf, Braunau eta Passau (Bavaria, Alemania).
